Kerala Mudali people are the Mudaliars brought from other parts of Tamil Nadu by the Venad kings some hundred years ago. They were settled in Venad area that is the present Kalkulam and Vilavancode taluk of Kanyakumari District. Since Kanyakumari district was a part of Kerala before independence, These people called themselves "Kerala Mudali."
The people were brought by the venad kings to produce cloths such as Mundu(Dothi), Neriyathu(Shawl), and Thorthu(Towel) which are the costume of the Nair community in those days. Hence these people were settled near Nair villages. Most of the people were settled in villages such as Amsi, Pootteti, Kannanvilai, Ananchicode, Valaithottam(Nattalam), Palliyadi, Colachel, Mealparai(Eranial), Manavalakurichi, Vilavoor, etc.
The trust was formed in the year 2014 for the development of the education, culture and economy of the Kerela mudali hindu people.
